Tara’s works explore light, colour and texture, creating landscapes that sit between recognition and abstraction.
Through layering, blending and gestural marks, forms emerge and dissolve across the surface. Textured areas create depth and movement, allowing the landscape to shift between something recognisable and something imagined. The work reflects the way memory holds onto fragments of a place while details become blurred or altered over time.
Familiar yet mysterious, the landscape becomes an impression of a place shaped by memory, colour and feeling.

Tara is a Sydney-based painter and photographer whose work looks at memory and perception through deeply textured, layered and dreamlike landscapes that are grounded in very Australian vistas.

Beginning her career as a photojournalist for News Ltd publications in Sydney and freelancing in South east Asia, Tara later studied a Visual Arts degree at Curtin University and completed a Graduate Diploma of Visual Art Education at ACU.

Drawing from a heightened sensory perception shaped by her personal journey through illness, Tara's work focuses on light, colour, and texture. She creates large, layered compositions that build depth and dimension, blending and distorting shape to reveal our environment in fresh and unexpected ways..

Tara's work has been exhibited in galleries across Sydney and Melbourne, including as part of the Sydney Fringe Festival, and she has been a finalist in the National Art Prize and in the Art and About Australian Life exhibition.
